and also the competitions that Hampshire County teams
are actively involved with.

CountyWinter Inter County LeagueThis competition runs over 10 rounds with 5 team members. Each team member completes one prone, standing and kneeling card (30 shots) per round shot at short range. Hampshire currently has 2 teams in competition - Division 1 and 2. The team member shooting for Hampshire with the highest aggregate in this competition wins the Cooper Salver.
HampshireDave Nevatte Memorial SalverOpen to members of clubs affiliated to Hampshire Association and run in conjunction with the Weekend Aggregate of the annual Bisley Rifle Championships - Competition 11.

Considering all classes X - D, the competitor who finishes highest in their class compared to all other classes will be awarded the Dave Nevatte Memorial Salver.

HampshireElizabethan TrophyThis is a nominate your start team handicap competition for the Challenge Trophy. Teams will consist of 6 members and the competition comprises a postal knockout. Up to the semi-final each team member will complete one 10 bull target, for the final each member will complete two targets.

HampshireHandicap - IndividualCompeting for the Trophyman Salver this is a name your own start handicap competition over 3 stages. The minimum start allowed is 5 which each competitor completing two cards per stage. 25% of first round competitors, or 20 competitors, whichever is higher, will go through to the second round with the top 12 of round 2 going through to the final which is held late March on a nominated range.

HampshireHandicap - PairsCompeting for the David Pragnell Trophy this competition is open to pairs whose combined average does not exceed 192. Preliminary rounds (usually two) will be fired in groups. The number of groups will be adjusted according to the number of entries. The best four pairs from round 2 will contest the final at the Sarisbury range during the month of March.

HampshireInter AreaOrganised annually this is a postal competition between the various clubs of the Association. Clubs are allocated to an 'Area'. Each area is permitted to enter A and B teams. The A teams consist of 13 members (top 10 scores to count) and the B teams consist of 10 members (top 8 scores to count). During the month of November each team member is required to complete two prone 10 bull targets within 2 hours.

Below is the Southern Daily Echo trophy that is awarded to the winning A team.

The trophy dates back to 1921 at which time it was awarded to the winners of an Inter Town competition, with Southampton being the first recipients. The competition was switched to the current Inter Area format in 1974 with the first area winners being New Forest.

HampshireMoore Memorial TrophyThis competition was started in 1973 as a memorial to Colonel L Moore who was President for many years and did so much for our County Association. The Competition is shot in classes and is open to all members of clubs who have subscribed to the Moore Memorial Fund. It runs concurrently with the County Rifle League, with the scores from four rounds being counted. For club members not competing in the league nominated cards will be supplied.

HampshireSummer Individual LeagueShot over 10 rounds, each competitor completes 20 shots.
HampshireSummer Individual LeagueThe competition is to be shot at 25yds distance on 25yds 10 bull targets, this competition can be shot concurrently with the team Benchrest league.

10 shots per card, 10 cards per season.

Stickers will be provided which must be fixed to the centre of the cards below the date line.

Scoring will be done in local clubs by nominated scorers with the results forwarded to the Benchrest Stats. Officer for collation of results.

Shot cards will need to be retained in clubs for the duration of the competition in order for them to be called in for spot checks.
HampshireSummer Indoor Individual postal leagueThis is a ten round competition at 15, 20 or 25 yrds. Can be shot concurrently with the team league. Local scoring will be utilised

HampshireWinter Individual Postal LeagueThis is a 2 positional competition (standing and kneeling). 14 rounds are shot between the months of Oct and Mar (cards can be shot concurrently with the team 2P competition).
HampshireWinter Rifle LeagueFourteen rounds are shot between the months of Oct and Mar. There are currently 10 divisions, each division having 7 team. Team size is 5 with each member completing one 10 bull card.

HampshireWinter Team PostalThis is a 2 positional competition (standing and kneeling). 14 rounds are shot between the months of Oct and Mar (cards can be shot concurrently with the individual 2P competition).
HampshireWinter Team Postal League10m Air Pistol competition for 3 team members
HampshireWinter Team Postal LeagueShot over 10 rounds, each team member completes 20 shots.
NationalQueen AlexanderThis is an NSRA county team of 6 competition run in three stages with a final held at Bisley during the National Championships in August. The competitions consists of a deliberate and rapid card at 25yrds.

Entry via Association Affiliation form

National, HampshireAstor CupA Club team competition consisting of 6 shooters per members with all to count where the preliminary rounds are fired at short range. The number of rounds (usually two) is dependent of the number of entries prior to the final which takes place at the Double Dewar currently on the Andover Range during July.

Course of fire for the final is 20 shots at 50m and 20 shots at 100yds. The winning team represents Hampshire at Bisley during the National Championship meeting (August).

Open Meeting, HampshireDouble Dewar and County ChampionshipsThis event also acts as the Hampshire Long Range Championship. The course of fire is 40 shots at 50m and 40 shots at 100yds. It is held at Andover Ranges.
